May 15th Update/Prayer requests

It's been a whirlwind time of year.  As a rule, everything for most of the college students, college ministries, and people on campus has been absolutely crazy for the past two weeks, and now it is beginning to slow down.  There are still a number of students who are moving or trying to find apartments and summer jobs, but this upcoming week should still be a lot slower for everyone.

Please pray for us as we try and find the ideal times for small groups.  We will have at least two small groups continuing over the summer.  We will also continue our game night, though it will only be on Friday evenings.  We are in the process of purchasing espresso machines, coffee supplies, and some other general things to add 'Common Grounds Coffee House' into the United Methodist Student Center as part of the game nights.  Unite will oversee the coffee house and maintain the equipment, and the United Methodist Student Center will provide us a place to run it in.  At this time, we will only be looking to run the coffee house during game nights.  We hope that it will attract additional people into a community at which they can interact with the body of believers.  Please especially pray that God provide interested individuals in the body who would be willing to come out and develop relationships.

We would also request prayer as we seek to organize a much bigger version of the 'Get Plugged In' event next semester on campus, prepare for the Mexico Mission Trip, and look at an endeavor in the downtown region that may substantially impact the community.  We need to spend a good deal of time in prayer and listening as we seek to move under God's direction in these things...

On a smaller note: for those of you who are unaware, I rent a three bedroom house with four other gentlemen (one of whom is on Unite leadership).  One of the room mates is moving out, and a young freshman student from the men's small group is moving in.  Later on in June we'll have another gentleman move out.  Please pray that God provide us the right man at the right time as a room mate.  This open room is a very exciting opportunity for us to get to know a non-believer, a young believer, or to develop stronger relationships with a brother in Christ (pending on who moves in).  I look forward to seeing what God has for us in this.

Beyond that, please pray that all of us may look to God for definition and for our value at core--especially those entering relationships or just out of relationships.  The end of the year has some fairly complex things happening in that realm for a number of college students, and prayers have power.

Thank you for your prayers and support--please keep the Mexico Mission Team in your prayers as it develops over the next few weeks!
